Wonderful 18th century engraved polar spheres map with full hand color.  Of particular note is the prominent North West Passage across Canada, ending in Lake de Fonte, a reference to the mythical voyage of this supposed navigator. Alaska is entirely undefined. Numerous tracks of explorers are shown, including Capt Cook voyages of 1769, 1773,  1774 & 1775.  Also Abel Tasman tracks in 1642, Capt. Furneaux 1773, Halley in 1700, etc.

In VG+ to near excellent clean condition.

An uncommon polar map.

 Sheet measures 18" x 9 1/2."   Map area measures 17 1/2" x 9."
