A fine and attractive mid-17th century folio sheet map of this German region bordering Bohemia (at right). We see numerous cities denoted by tiny red cathedrals including Wurtzburg, Frankfurt, Hanau , Auerbach, Heidelberg , Regensberg and Gemund; Mayn River flows through the center of the image. With original outline hand color and two attractive title cartouches. Distance scale sits within an ornate border at bottom right, a coat of arms with dedication at the upper right.

In VG+ to near excellent clean condition w/ an overall very appealing visual effect. Very framable. An uncommon mid-17th century map.

Sheet measures c. 22 1/2" x 19 1/4". Image area measures c. 20" x 15".
