Representant l'Allemagne avec toutes sese parties, comprennant tout le Corps de l'Empire Romain" in Amsterdam, 1644. French Edition. A fine and attractive mid-17th century folio sheet map of this European region which borders the Netherlands and Germany. We see numerous cities including Wesel, Gelre, Emmerich, St. Anthony's (?) Temple ("St. Anthonis inder Heyde"), Schermbeck in Germany and the Dutch cities of Nimegen, Deventer and Zutphen. The Rhine River flows prominently through the center of the map and we see where it splits into two tributaries near Emmerich, Germany and Zevenaar, Netherlands. With original outline hand color and an attractive title cartouche w/ a coat of arms. Distance scale sits within an ornate vignette border. (Note: North is oriented to the left.) In VG+ to near excellent condition w/ an overall very appealing visual effect. Very framable. An uncommon mid-17th century map. Sheet measures c. 22 1/2" x 19 1/4". Image area measures c. 20" x 15".
