 Issued for the "Nouvel Atlas ou Theatre du Mondre.  Representant l'Allemagne avec toutes sese parties, comprennant tout le Corps de l'Empire Romain" in Amsterdam, 1644.  At bottom right is a dedication by H. Hondius.

A fine and attractive mid-17th century folio sheet copper engraved map of this region of Europe which borders the Baltic Sea. Includes numerous cities including Gardelegen, Tiebbin, Stettin, Magdeburg and Wittenberg. With original outline hand color and two attractive vignette title cartouches.  Note the sailing ships and compass rose w/ rhumb lines. Text in Latin. In VG+ condition, some minor light age wear, but overall clean, appealing and very framable.

Sheet measures c. 22 1/2" x 19 1/4".  Image area measures c. 20" x 15".
