A fine and attractive mid-17th century folio sheet copper engraved map of this region of Europe. Ornate title cartouche(s) and distance scale . Coat of arms at top left w/ sailing ships and compass rose (and rhumb lines). Includes numerous cities; swash lettering along bottom. Text in Latin.
In VG+ condition, some minor light age wear and short split along bottom margin which has been expertly repaired on the reverse. An overall appealing and very framable 17th century copper engraved map.
Sheet measures c. 22 1/2" x 19 1/4". Image area measures c. 20" x 15".
