A fine mid- to late 18th century engraved map of North America w/ expert full hand color.  Many place names are notes especially on the east coast and in the Caribbean.  Depicts heavy detail east of the Mississippi and along its tributaries but we see a very sparse west (except in the Southwest region).  Of note is the "dog leg Baja configuration" as well as the interrupted Alaska near the Bering Strait.  Distance scales at top right.

This map comes from a later edition which contained important maps of the United States, British America, and Mexico which do not appear in the earlier editions; uncommon, thus.

In excellent condition w/ superior hand color.  Original fold line, as issued; perfect for framing.

Sheet Measures approx. 15" x H 9 1/2"  Image Measures approx. 12 1/4" x H 8 1/4"
