A mid to late 19th century folio double sheet map of Florida w/ original full color. We see counties colored in contrast; major roadways and railroads as they existed in the mid 19th century. Large inset at bottom left depicts the southern tip of Florida and the Florida Keys. Appealing intricate scrollwork border.
In near fine condition with a one inch split at bottom centerfold, cleanly closed w/ archival tape on the reverse. An uncommon issue of this Colton map. The imprint on the map is 1868, but it is from an atlas with the title page dated 1875, so perhaps there are variations between this state and those actually published in 1868.
Double sheet measures c. 27 3/4" x 17 1/2."
