A fine 18th century map of this country by Rigobert Bonne, one of the more important and skilled cartographic engravers working in France at this date. Bonne succeeding Bellin at the Royal Hydrographic Office, an important and prestigious position awarded based upon merit and background.
We see Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, part of Russia - all w/ somewhat different geographical boundaries than modern day, particularly for Finland.
In excellent, antiquarian condition with brilliant full hand color on a c.15 1/2 " x 9 1/2 " sheet. (image size is 13 " x 9 ").
