Attractive late 19th-century lithographed map with original hand color.
Map focuses on the physical features of North America, as well as showing the state boundaries at this time. Most of the West is still territorial. An inset at left shows the route of Columbus, another showing Mexico. Also shown are the Gulf streams in the Atlantic Ocean.
Most curiously, the list of 18 states at left lists Virginia as also called "Kanawha"!
In VG + to fine clean condition. Original centerfold as issued.
