Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Cincinnati - 1855
Note: To view available close-ups, click on the area you wish to see. An engraved mid-19th century single sheet map depicting Pittsburgh, PA on the top half and Cincinnati, OH on the bottom portion with original full hand color. We see the wards colored in contrast, street names and the railroad lines as they existed in the 1850's. Surrounded by intricate scroll border. An uncommon issue of this Colton map. The imprint on the map is 1855, but it is from an atlas with the title page dated 1865, so perhaps there are variations between this state and those actually published in 1855. In VG+ clean condition. Full margins as issued, very frameable. Sheet measures 17 1/4" H x 14 3/4". Image measures 15 3/4" H x 12 1/2."
