A fine detailed mid-19th century single sheet Johnson map with full original hand color. We see railroads, carriage roads, rivers and canals as they existed in Civil War era Delaware and Maryland. Inset at bottom left depicts the District of Columbia denoting 12 important buildings. Three vignettes across the top depict the "General Post Office", "Treasury Buildings" and "Patent Office".

 Text at bottom below the key details information concerning the boundary between Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland, commonly referred to as the Mason Dixon Line. The image area is surrounded by a lovely patterned border.

In VG+, clean antiquarian condition for this mid-19th century Johnson map. Exhibits light minor toning. Perfect for framing, with a pleasing age patina.

Map measures c. 18 1/4" H x 14 1/4". Image area measures c. 16 1/2" x 12 1/2".
