An attractive, hand colored mid-19th century detailed historical map of ancient northern Africa. Text in Latin. We see cities, ports and topography illustrated. Top half displays Mauretania with an inset of Carthage. Lower half of sheet displays "Cyrenaica & Marmarica." with insets of "Alexandria" and "Cyrene" on the left side; "Numidia, Zeugifanai & Byzacium." displayed on the lower right side. Mostly nice and clean; perfect for framing. In VG+ to near fine clean antiquarian condition with original outline hand color. Sheet measures c. 17 1/2" W x 14 1/2" H.
