An uncommon and quite interesting mid-19th century map focusing on Texas and the American Southwest with a wonderful level of detail. Perhaps of most interest is the detailed depiction of Texas, which has an outlined area title "Austins Grant". We also see an enormous New Mexico Territory, as well as "Upper California" with a large region boldly labeled "Gold Region" (yellow color is original). Just a great transitional map depicting the area in a manner not frequently encountered in American maps.

VG+ to near excellent condition, some minor spotting in the margins, map area is quite clean. Scarce thus.

Sheet measures c. 12" W x 10" H.  Image area measures c. 10" W x 7 1/4" H.
