Mostly clean example of this important state map which is surrounded by historical information, including details on minerals, rivers, climate, divisions and population, roads & canals, education, manufacturing, religion, government, a lengthy historical sketch and a list of Governors between 1803 and 1822.
Sheet measures c. 22 1/4" x 17 1/2", engraved area measures 20 1/4" x 16 1/2 ".
Clean and attractive, with several nice clean paper repairs on the reverse for short splits which exist along the top edge. There is also a light hint of centerfold browning, but really, overall, this map will look very nice framed. It has a nice age patina and will look great hanging on a wall. (what you see on the reverse is the aged green color, not tape!). We have also shown a couple close-ups of the splits so you can see them in detail. The short bottom split would be easy to lay flat and rendered almost invisible/ seamless with some archival book glue.
