"Entrée de la Riviere de Sestos," issued 1747, Paris, by Bellin. A most attractive 18th century map of the mouth of the Sestos, or Cestos, River located in Liberia. This map gives a detailed depiction of the surrounding villages, forests, and rivers. Numerous sounding depths, two anchors, a large compass rose with rhumb lines and a fleur-de-lys impart a nautical feel to the map. 

In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition. With expert, beautiful hand coloring. Sheet measures c. 7 1/8" W x 9 7/8" H; engraved image (including text) measures c. 5 7/8" W x 8 1/2" H.
