A lovely mid-18th century portrait of President Thomas Jefferson. As a delegate for the Continental Congress, Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence, he promoted such political ideals as separation of Church and State and the establishment of a public school system, as well as favoring a discontinuation of the slave trade and eventual abolition.
In VG+ antiquarian condition. with expert and lovely full hand color.
