"Barbarie," "Partie Occidentale de la Barbarie," "Partie Du Milieu De la Barbarie," and "Partie Orientale de la Barbarie," issued in 1683, Paris, by Mallet. A charming 17th century engraved map of the region once known as the Barbary Coast in Africa. Contains four maps in one. The top map shows all of the Barbary Coast along the Mediterranean Sea and parts of Europe and Asia. The second shows the western part of the Barbary Coast, in more detail, including Morocco, Fez, and Algiers. The third depicts the middle of the coast, including the states of Tunis and Tripoli, and the fourth depicts the eastern part of the coast, including Barca and Egypt. Each map has a simple title banner or strapwork cartouche. Shows major rivers and mountain ranges. With beautiful hand color.
In VG+ antiquarian condition. Sheet measures c. 5 1/2" W x 8 1/4" H, image area measures c. 4 1/8" W x 6" H.
