Architecture - 1820
"Architecture," issued 1802-1818, London, engraved by W. Lowry. A fascinating group of 6 nineteenth-century steel engravings pertaining to the study of Architecture, and in particular, the study of architectural capitals and columns. Each sheet features a number of very finely engraved columns (or in one case, moldings), and some sheets contain geometric figures or drawings of columns. A very interesting set of engravings, very desirable to anyone who has an affinity for architecture, and obviously quite uncommon. In VG+ antiquarian condition, with some light foxing/fading to margins (not in the least detracting). Sheets measure c. 10 3/4" H x 8 1/4" W, image areas vary. Please note: the sheets are nicely uniform in color, although the digital photos seem to suggest otherwise. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
