An exceedingly detailed and very attractive 16th century Ortelius map, with a view of Salzburg at lower left revealed by the charming cartographic device of a rolled-back scroll map. Shows forests, rivers, lakes, and countless towns and cities, indicated by tiny buildings. Tiny figures, some on horseback, clearly discernible in the delightful birds-eye view of the city.
In VG+ antiquarian condition. With full hand color. Sheet measures c. 18 3/4" W x 14 1/2" H. Image area measures c. 16 3/4" W x 13" H.
