A wonderful engraved early 18th century map based upon the Mercator map from the 17th century, with beautiful hand color, of part of France, including the city of Beauvais. Very detailed, with small trees symbolizing forests and cathedrals highlighted in red for important cities. Also shows major rivers and mountain ranges. With hundreds of place names. Features a simple box strapwork cartouche at upper left. In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition, with a very light stain to the upper margin (not detracting). With beautiful, full hand color.
