"Kasan No. 1," issued 1839, Barcelona, engraved by Cholet. A lovely, 19th-century engraved view of Kasan, Russia. This wonderful view of the city in its antiquity shows a number of buildings, many of which have wonderful spires. Shows a sailing ship in the harbor. Features a nice level of detail in the engraving, especially evident in the spires and windows. With lovely hand color.
In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition, with some extremely light foxing in 2-3 places (not detracting). Sheet measures c. 7 7/8" W x 5" H; image area (including text) measures c. 5 7/8" W x 4 1/2" H.
A somewhat uncommon 19th century engraved panoramic view.
