San Francisco - 1854
"San Francisco," issued in 1854, New York, by Ensign. A remarkably detailed and uncommon city plan, issued at a relatively early stage in the development of the city. At this time, San Francisco would have been reached from east of the Rockies only by clipper ship or stage coach. Quite possibly printed by the cerographic method. In VG+ antiquarian condition, with lovely hand color. Sheet measures c. 9 " W x 5 1/2 " H, image area measures c. 4 3/4 " W x 8 " H.
