Kremlin, Moscow - 1839
"Kremlin, vu du Pont de pierre," issued 1839, Barcelona, engraved by Cholet. A lovely, engraved view, showing the Great Stone Bridge that connects the Kremlin to opposite bank of the Moscow River. Shows the river, with several docks and a tiny boat. Also shows part of the Kremlin, with several tiny figures walking near its gates. Features a nice level of detail in the engraving, especially evident in the windows and walls of the buildings. With lovely hand color. In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition, with some extremely light foxing to extremities of right and left margins (not detracting). Sheet measures c. 7 7/8" W x 5" H; image area (including text) measures c. 5 1/2" W x 4 7/8" H. Attractive and uncommon.
