"Suite Du Bresil, Pour servir a l'Histoire des Etablissemens Europeens," issued c. 1773, Amsterdam, by Jacques Nicolas Bellin, the important French cartographer who spent over 50 years at the French Hydrographic Service and was appointed the first "Ingenieur Hydrographe de la Marine", as well as later in life "Hydrographer to the King". Bellin is best known for his high quality French sea charts and his finely engraved world maps for Prevost's "L'Histoire Generale des Voyages" (many engraved by Chedel). This map of the southern coast of Brazil includes a large portion of Paraguay and is a fine example of a map by Bellin.  Nicely detailed, with river drainage and mountains. This map states it is based upon that of d' Anville.

 In VG+ to near excellent, clean antiquarian condition. Sheet measures 8 1/8 " W x 10 1/4 " H; image measures 6 5/8" W x 9 1/8 " H.  With beautiful full hand color.
