"The Netherlands," issued in 1797, London, by Turner. From one of the smallest atlases issued in the 18th century, very reminiscent in style to Gibson's atlas of some years earlier. A charming little map of the present-day Belgium. Shows the former provinces of Dutch Brabant, Austrian Brabant, Luxembourg, French Flanders, and Artois. With lovely, full hand color and a nice decorative cartouche.
In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition, with some light scattered soiling in margins (not detracting). Sheet measures c. 6 " W x 3 " H, image area measures c. 4 " W x 2 7/8 " H.
