Stereoview Photographs of Florence, Italy c. 1925
Note: to see close-ups of this picture, click on the area you wish to see. A very appealing group of 4 stereoscope views of Florence, Italy produced in c.1925. Three of these view were published by the Keystone View Company. This company produced high quality stereo views in the early part of the 20th century which were very popular in their day, although many of the views from the 1920's are actually somewhat less common than many people believe. Indeed, since the national fad of stereography began to fade in popularity in the 1920's, many of these views must have had relatively limited distribution and were produced for a relatively short period. The top view was produced likely in France, c.1920's as well. These particular views are in lovely clean condition and are titled as follows: "Firenze: Il Campanile.", Palazzo Vecchio and Plazza della Signoria, where Savonarola was imprisoned and burned, Florence, Italy.", "Vecchio Bridge Across River Arno, Florence, Italy.", and "The Cathedral in the 'Flower of All Cities,' Florence, Italy." The tones are nicely varied and the resolution quite sharp. In near excellent, clean antiquarian condition with great visual appeal. Each measures c. 7" x 3 1/2". The backs of the Keystone views have extensive descriptive text relating to the view. Sold as a group only. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
