Stereoview Photographs of Venice, Italy c. 1925
Note: to see close-ups of this picture, click on the area you wish to see. A very appealing group of stereoscope views of Venice, Italy produced in c.1925 by Keystone View Company, H.C. White, and American Stereoscopic Company. Stereo views, produced in the early part of the 20th century, were very popular in their day, although many of the views from the 1920's are actually somewhat less common than many people believe. Indeed, since the national fad of stereography began to fade in popularity in the 1920's, many of these views must have had relatively limited distribution and were produced for a relatively short period. These particular views are in lovely clean condition and are titled as follows: "St. Mark's Cathedral," "The beautiful Church of San Marco," and "Grand Canal." The tones are nicely varied and the resolution quite sharp. In near excellent, clean antiquarian condition with great visual appeal. Each measures c. 7" x 3 1/2". The back of the Keystone and American Stereoscopic Company views have extensive descriptive text relating to the view. Sold as a group only.
