Stereoview Photographs of the Leaning Tower of Pisa c. 1925
Note: to see close-ups of this picture, click on the area you wish to see. A very appealing pair of stereoscope views of New York City produced in c.1925. The Keystone View Company produced very high quality stereo views in the early part of the 20th century which were very popular in their day, although many of the views from the 1920's are actually somewhat less common than many people believe. Indeed, since the national fad of stereography began to fade in popularity in the 1920's, many of these later views must have had relatively limited distribution and were produced for a relatively short period. The second view was likely produced in France c.1925. These particular views are in lovely clean condition and are titled as follows: "The Leaning Tower, and the Eleventh Century Cathedral," and "La Tour penchee." The tones are nicely varied and the resolution quite sharp. In near excellent, clean antiquarian condition with great visual appeal. Each measures c. 7" x 3 1/2". The back of the Keystone view has extensive descriptive text relating to the view. Sold as a group only. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
