Stereo View Photographs of China and Korea - c. 1925
A very appealing group of stereoscope views of China and Korea, produced in c.1925 by the Keystone View Company. This company produced very high quality stereo views in the early part of the 20th century which were very popular in their day, although many of the views from the 1920's are actually somewhat less common than many people believe. Indeed, as the national fad of stereography began to fade in popularity in the 1920's, many of these views must have had relatively limited distribution and were produced for a relatively short period. These particular views are in lovely clean condition and are titled as follows: "Picturesque Chinese Junk under Full Sail on the Yellow Sea, Coast of Manchuria in distance," "Plowing Scene near Seoul - A Korean Farmer in His White Costume," "Most Gigantic Defensive Work in World - Great Wall of China on Rugged Hills near Hankow Pass," "Busy Street Scene in the Ancient city of the Manchus, Muken, Manchuria," "The Chukiang River with Its Enormous floating Population, Canton, China," "A Chinese Sawmill, Peking, China," "Passing Life in the Land of Confucius - Street Scene in Canton, China," and "The Picturesque land of Confucius - Woo Men Bridge and Grand Imperial canal, Soochow, China." The tones are rich and the resolution is very sharp. In near excellent, clean antiquarian condition with great visual appeal. Each measures c. 7" x 3 1/2". Backs have extensive descriptive text relating to the views. Sold as a group only. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
