New York City - 19th Century Engraving
Note: to see close-ups of this picture, click on the area you wish to see. Horse-drawn carriages and well-dressed citizens fill the park before the city hall in this stunning engraving. Note the window sill and potted plant on the left which frame the view. By including such details in the foreground the artist situates the viewer and effects the visual illusion of great depth. One of the less common and more desirable Meyer engravings. In VG+ to near excellent antiquarian condition with great visual appeal due to the superior full hand color. On a c. 9 7/8 " W x 6 1/2 " H sheet; image area c. 5 3/4 " W x 4 " H. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
