Fine early Postcard collection of Carcassone, France - c.1908A lovely assemblage of 33 fine condition turn-of-the-century postcards, which focuses exclusively on the castle at Carcasonne. These were bought there by a woman who took a grand tour of Europe in the first part of the 20th century and neatly tucked them into an album almost 100 years ago. They are just now seeing the light of day- for the most part, aside from tiny minor flaws, they are in lovely, fresh, clean condition, close to the day they were bought. The cards in this set depict the castle in both color and black and white; the castle is viewed from every conceivable angle. They are almost entirely unused, bought as souvenirs by a post card collector who seemed to have a pretty good eye for interesting cards which captures the feel of the city at this time. Postcards measure c. 5 3/8 " W x 3 1/2 " H. A comprehensive view of the Medieval castle.
