Fine early Postcard collection of the Swiss Alps - c.1908A lovely assemblage of 11 fine condition turn-of-the-century postcards of the Alps. This set features views of Kandersteg, including scenes of the Lotscheberg rail-tunnel and group portraits of the workers responsible for it. These were bought there by a woman who took a grand tour of Europe in the early 20th century and neatly tucked them into an album almost 100 years ago. They are just now seeing the light of day- for the most part, aside from tiny minor flaws, they are in lovely, fresh, clean condition, close to the day they were bought. They are almost entirely unused, bought as souvenirs by a post card collector who seemed to have a pretty good eye for interesting cards which captures the feel of the city at this time. Postcards measure c. 5 3/8 " W x 3 1/2 " H.
