Fine early Postcard collection of Oxford, England c.1908 A lovely assemblage of 10 fine condition turn-of-the-century postcards of the city. These were bought there by a woman who took a grand tour of Europe in the first part of this century and neatly tucked into an album almost 100 years ago. They are just now seeing the light of day- for the most part, aside from tiny minor flaws, they are in lovely, fresh, clean condition, close to the day they were bought. They are almost entirely unused, bought as souvenirs by a post card collector who seemed to have a pretty good eye for interesting cards which captures the feel of the city at this time. Includes a view of the city from Magdalen Tower, some lively boating scenes, and one card depicting the "Arms of the Public Schools of England. " Postcards measure c. 5 3/8 " W x 3 1/2 " H.
