A lovely and uncommon mid-19th century lithograph with hand color. On two folding sheets as issued, in VG+, mostly clean condition aside from a few small light age spots. Most appealing visually and conceptually, an unusual image relating to this topic. "Telescopic Appearance of the Moon" is on a c. 8 1/2 " W x 10 3/4 " H sheet (image size is c. 7 3/4 " W x 8 " H) while "The Phases of the Moon" is on a c. 10 3/4 " W x 8 1/2 " H sheet. A tiny piece of archival tape on the reverse to strengthen the centerfold.
