A lovely and uncommon mid-19th century lithograph with hand color. On a folding sheet as issued, in VG+, mostly clean condition aside from a few small very light age spots. Most appealing visually and conceptually, an unusual image relating to this scientific topic. On a c. 10 3/4 " W x 8 1/2 " H sheet (image size is c. 8 3/4 " W x 7 1/4 " H). A tiny piece of archival tape on the reverse at either end to strengthen the centerfold.
