A lovely and uncommon mid-19th century pair of two lithographs with hand color. On folding sheets as issued, in VG+, mostly clean condition aside from a few small light age spots. Most appealing visually and conceptually, an unusual image relating to this topic. "The Solar System" is on a c. 10 3/4 " W x 8 3/8 " H sheet (image size is c. 10 " W x 7 3/4 " H) while "Perpendicular Distribution of Plants" is on a c. 10 3/4 " W x 8 1/2 " H sheet (image size is c. 9 1/4 " W x 7 " H). A tiny piece of archival tape on the reverse to strengthen the centerfolds.
Can be matted together or separately.
