La Grande Bretagne et Irlande: issued Amsterdam, 1723 by Chatelain for Limiers very scarce "La Science..." (geographical grammar). Beautifully hand colored, a charming and uncommon little early 18th century map of this country by one of the leading publishers working in Amsterdam at this time. A delightful simplified depiction of Britain, Scotland and Ireland, each with a tiny cathedral for their principal city. A bit of the Netherlands and Flanders coast is seen at bottom right.
In excellent antiquarian condition with attractive full hand color on a c. 7 5/8 " W x 6 3/8 " H sheet (image size is c. 6 5/8" W x 5 3/8 " H), original folds as issued.
A delightful little 18th century map.
