Issue is c. 11" W x 16" H sheet. New York: Harpers, 1864. In VG, mostly clean and fresh condition, this weekly issue of Harpers is from Saturday, May 21, 1864. Volume 4, No. 386. 

This fine heavily illustrated newspaper focuses on the most important issues of the time period. Depicted on the cover is General Sherman's advance at Buzzard's Roost Pass, Georgia. Other illustrations include: a full page illustration of the grand musical festival in Philadelphia in aid of the Sanitary Commission, a half page illustration of the departure of the Union Fleet from Newport News, Virginia, on May 4, 1864, a half page illustration of the arrival of General Butler's advance at City Point, Virginia, on May 5, 1864, a dramatic double page illustration of Rebel attrocities, a nice full page map of Virginia, showing the Military operations of General's Grant and Butler, a full page map of Richmond, Virginia, showing its defenses and Railroad connections, a portrait of the late General Wadsworth, a quarter page illustration of the destruction of the east Tennessee and Virginia railroad, a quarter page illustration of the destruction of Rebel Schooners off Homosassa River, Florida. 

Text is about issues concerning the illustrations and other prominant issues of the time period. An interesting and historical look into America's past. Issue is 16pp.
