Other illustrations include: a full page illustration of a stampede of army horses, a small portrait of Major-General Herron, a half page illustration of Saltpeter Cave near Chattanooga, a wonderful double page Winslow Homer illustration titled "The Halt of Wagon Train", a half page illustration of the camp of the New York one hundred and third before Charleston, a half page depiction of an accident on the Pennsylvania Central Railroad, a half page depiction of the stag dance, a half page illustration of a veteran on Furlough.
