"Royaumes du Nord" issued c.1719, Frankfurt, by A.M. Mallet. A charming early 18th century map with an appealing title cartouche and tall ships off the coast.
Mallet was a well traveled military engineer and geographer who worked in 17th century France under King Louis XIV. This map is from his scarce monumental work "Description de L'Univers."
Very appealing visually, in near excellent antiquarian condition on a c. 6 3/4" W x 8 1/8" H sheet, image area c. 4" W x 5 1/2" H. Attractively hand colored.
