Volume 6, No. 283. This fine heavily illustrated newspaper focuses on one of the most important issues of the time period, the Civil War. Depicted on the cover is a full page of a balloon view of the attack on Fort Darling, in the James River. Other illustrations include: a full page of three sketches of Mobile, Alabama, a full page of the naval combat at Fort Wright, in the Mississippi River, a full page of three sketches of naval ships, two full pages of scenes from Richmond, Virginia, a half page sketch of a bird's eye view of Memphis, Tennessee, a half page of a scene from the battle of Pea Ridge, Tennessee, and two political cartoons. Text is about issues concerning the Civil War, and also included is a continuing chapter of "No Name," a story by Wilkie Collins. An interesting and historical look into America's past.
