Mercier, the French Minister to Washington, Baron Stoeckel, Russian Minister to Washington, Baron Von Gerolt, Prussian Minister to Washington, a full page illustration depicting "The Prisons and Jailers at Richmond", a nice inset "Map of the Theatre of the War in Western Tennessee", a wonderful birds-eye view of "The Union Gun-Boats Advancing up the Tenessee River to the Attack of Fort Henry, Tennessee", a full page illustration depicting the hardships of traveling faced by the army of the Potomac entitled "Why the Army of the Potomac Doesn't Move", a half page illustration of the "Battle Between the Mexicans and the Allied Invaders" with mountains and the National Bridge near Vera Cruz in the background, a half page illustration of flooding along the Ohio River at Cincinnati, a charming full page illustration of a "Skating Carnival in Brooklyn, February 10, 1862", along with many articles and commentaries, many dealing with the time-period's most prominent news story, the Civil War.
