Tunis North Africa 1719 by Mallet
A delightful little early 18th century view of Tunis, North Africa (one of the Barbary States) with a busy harbor, a recognizable shoreline and urban plan, etc. Very decorative, with tall ships, people camped in tent cities, etc. A.M. Mallet was an important French geographer and military engineer who worked in 17th century France under King Louis XIV. Beautifully hand colored.
