"A Map of Sweden Denmark & Norway", issued 1777, London for a very scarce geographical grammar with maps by J. Cowley, "Geographer to his Majesty". The maps for this work were engraved by Emanuel Bowen, the well known English engraver, publisher and printseller who later in life died poor and blind. A well engraved and very charming 18th century map of Scandinavia, with expert hand color which looks much nicer on the map than it appears in the digital photo. An inset at upper left of "North Part of Norway & c. continued". Map displays a charming 18th century feel about it.

In VG+ antiquarian condition, with beautiful full hand color. On a c. 6 3/4 ” W x 5 3/4 ” H sheet (engraved image size is c. 5 ” x 4 1/4 ”).
