A.M. Mallet was an important French geographer and military engineer who worked in 17th century France under King Louis XIV. 

A fine 17th century depiction of a floor globe with a turned wooden leg base, the globe displaying an enormous southern continent. Atop this is a wonderful miniature tabletop armillary sphere.

In VG+ antiquarian condition, with beautiful full hand color.   On a c. 5 ” W x  7  1/2 ” H sheet (engraved image size is 4 " x 5  1/2 ").
