A fine and uncommon 17th century map of the globe projected from the North Pole, there being essentially nothing there. Of note is the clear depiction of California as an Island.

A.M. Mallet was an important French geographer and military engineer who worked in 17th century France under King Louis XIV.  Beautifully hand colored.

In near excellent, clean antiquarian condition with beautiful full hand color.   On a c. 5 ” W x  7  3/4 ” H sheet (engraved image size is 4 " x 5  3/4 ").
