A delightful and most charming early 18th century map of France with an ornate title cartouche. From a scarce printing of Mallet done in Germany in 1719 by Johann Jung. Wonderfully detailed with numerous horse drawn carriages, people, etc. Mallet was a well traveled military engineer and geographer who worked in Paris under King Louis XIV.

An oversize Mallet, composed of two sheets joined at center, as issued.

In near excellent, clean antiquarian condition with attractive full hand color.  On a c.  10  1/8 ” W x  8 ” H sheet (engraved image size is 8  1/2 " x 6  1/4 ").
