A charming pair of miniature World maps by Louis-Charles Desnos (1725-1805), the Royal Danish cartographer, globe maker and publisher who lived in worked in 18th century Paris and worked with most of the eminent cartographers of his day. (see Tooley's Dictionary of Mapmakers-revised ed.-1999-available through Richard Arkway NY firm). This pair of maps is from the fairly scarce "Almanach Geographique" (Paris, 1770). With original full hand color heightened in outline as they were issued, in excellent, mostly clean antiquarian condition, perfect for framing and display.

In near excellent, clean antiquarian condition with beautiful original full hand color. On c. 4 ” W x 4 1/4 ” H sheets (engraved image sizes are 3 3/4 " x 3 3/4 ").
