A magnificent and uncommon oversize folio sheet map of North America from a very scarce atlas. Issued in Paris, 1857 by Auguste -Henri Dufour (1798-1865). The map was engraved by Charles Dyonnet, the Parisian engraver who was "Graveur du Dépot de la Marine" from 1850-1861. A superbly engraved monumental map which would be perfect for a large public space or office once framed. With original outline hand color, printed on a very heavy paper stock. In very good to excellent condition, about as nice an example of this map as one could reasonably hope to find.

In excellent, clean antiquarian condition with attractive full hand color.
On a c. 24 ” W x 33 1/4 ” H sheet (engraved image size is 21 1/2 " x 29 1/2 ").
