A charming miniature map by Louis-Charles Desnos (1725-1805), the Royal Danish cartographer, globe maker and publisher who lived in worked in 18th century Paris and worked with most of the eminent cartographers of his day. (see Tooley's Dictionary of Mapmakers-revised ed.-1999-available through Richard Arkway NY firm). This map of Portugal is from the fairly scarce "Almanach Geographique" (Paris, 1770). With original full hand color heightened in outline as issued, in excellent, mostly clean antiquarian condition, perfect for framing and display.

In near excellent, clean antiquarian condition with beautiful original full original hand color. On c. 4 ” W x 4 1/4 ” H sheet (engraved image size is 3 3/4 " x 3 3/4 ").
